Las Vegas — Former President Donald Trump praised Texas Gov. Greg Abbott Saturday for refusing to let the Biden administration remove razor wire along a popular passageway for illegal immigrants in an intensifying immigration spat.

Trump said Texas should be fully supported in its border security efforts in a speech focused on border security. After the Supreme Court allowed the Border Patrol to cut or dismantle the sharp metal barrier, the state is restraining them.

Trump mostly ignored a jury's Friday ruling ordering him to pay $83.3 million to writer E. Jean Carroll, whom he dubbed a liar for accusing him of sexual assault.

The former president, who is close to winning the Republican presidential nomination, said the Biden administration weaponized law enforcement against him. He faces 91 criminal charges in four indictments for trying to overturn the 2020 election, mishandling classified documents, and arranging payoffs to a porn star.

The election tampering is an example of what they do to me, he added. "Look at yesterday, look at all this crap, but we keep marching forward and somehow it all works out."
