INGREDIENT
– 16 ounces cod cut into filet– Sea salt and black pepper– 2 tsp garlic powder– 4 Tbsp unsalted butter– 1 Tbsp olive oil or avocado oil– 4 large cloves garlic minced– Lemon wedges for serving
INSTRUCTIONS
Heat the oven to 375°F. Unpackage the cod and place it on a plate or cutting board. Pat excess moisture with a paper towel.
Step 1
Put the cod in a casserole, baking dish, or sheet pan. Season each fillet with sea salt, garlic powder, and black pepper on both sides.
Step 2
Warm a small skillet on the stove over medium. Butter, olive oil, and garlic. Heat garlic for 2–4 minutes until fragrant but colourless.
Step 3
Increase heat to medium high if garlic is closely monitored. Remove garlic from heat before it browns. To enhance garlic flavour without overcooking.
Step 4
Put garlic butter on cod. Spread garlic butter on cod with a spoon. Bake cod at 145°F for 12-15 minutes. Check fish temperature with a meat thermometer in its thickest part.
