These Fudgy Peanut Butter Cup Brownies are loaded with peanut butter cups and begin with a simple homemade brownie recipe!

Start oven at 350°F. Wrap an 8-inch square baking dish with aluminum foil, leaving an overhang for removal. Prepare with nonstick cooking spray.

Mix melted butter and granulated sugar in a large bowl. Fully mix eggs and vanilla extract.

Sift flour, cocoa powder, and salt into the dry ingredients and beat until just incorporated, scraping basin edges as needed.

Put half the brownie batter in the pan. Cut some peanut butter cups in half to place them in one uniform layer on the brownie batter.

Make sure that all of the peanut butter cups are coated by adding the remaining brownie batter on top and spreading it out evenly.

To solidify brownie tops, bake at 350°F for 30–35 minutes. Cool fully on a wire rack after removing from the oven. Serve in 9-12 squares and enjoy!

Keep brownies in an airtight jar at room temperature for four days. Let brownies thaw overnight in the fridge and serve at room temperature.
