This easy candied pecan recipe takes minutes to make! Sweetened with pure maple syrup for less sugar. They can be eaten raw or chopped into salads.
INGREDIENT
– 1 cup raw pecan– 1 Tbsp avocado oil– 2 Tbsp pure maple syrup– 1 pinch ground cinnamon optional– 1 pinch sea salt
INSTRUCTIONS
Put all candied pecan ingredients in a small skillet over medium heat. Cook and stir pecans for 3–5 minutes until most of the liquid evaporates and they are shiny and sticky.
Step 1
Remember that nuts burn easily if left too long. I recommend stirring frequently and watching the skillet for 3–5 minutes.
Step 2
Lacquered pecans should be removed from heat immediately. For sweeter pecans, add 1–2 tablespoons brown sugar.
Step 3
To avoid sticking, dry nuts in a single layer on a plate or baking sheet. If nuts stick together, put them in a bowl right away. After several minutes, dried nuts won't stick to your hands.
Step 4
Eat candied pecans as a snack, chop them for green salads, or sprinkle them on desserts.
