Balela Salad Recipe

Healthy, power-packed balela salad is loved by everybody. This unique, delectable treat is excellent for the holidays. Don't mistake this for chickpea salad!

Ingredient

– 3 ½ cups cooked chickpeas drained and rinsed – ½ green bell pepper, chopped – 1 jalapeno, finely chopped (optional) – 2 ½ cups grape or cherry tomatoes, halved if you’d like  – ½ cup sun-dried tomatoe – 3-5 green onions, chopped  – ⅓ cup pitted Kalamata olive – ¼ cup pitted green olive – ½ cup chopped parsley leave – ½ cup chopped mint or basil leave

Direction

Put the chickpeas, bell pepper, tomatoes, green onion, sun-dried tomatoes, olives, and herbs in a big bowl. If you want to add jalapeño, do so now.

Add oil, vinegar, lemon juice, garlic, sumac, Aleppo pepper, and red pepper to a separate bowl or jar. Salt and pepper to taste, stir together.

Cover the salad with dressing and gently combine. Allow to sit for 30 minutes or refrigerate until serving.
