Turkey Chili Recipe

Whole30 chilli recipe without beans that is made in one pot in 35 minutes with vegetables and ground turkey.

INGREDIENT

– 2 Tbsp avocado oil or olive oil – 1/2 yellow onion chopped – 1 small sweet potato chopped – 1 large carrot peeled and chopped – 1 red bell pepper cored and chopped – 1 pasilla pepper cored and chopped – 3 cloves garlic minced – 2 Tbsp chili powder – 1 tsp ground cumin – 2 tsp ground paprika – 2 tsp dried oregano – 1 tsp sea salt to taste – 1 lb ground turkey – 1 15-ounce can diced tomatoe – 1.5 cups low-sodium chicken broth or bone broth For Serving: – coconut milk yogurt – 1 large ripe avocado sliced – 1/2 cup fresh cilantro chopped – 4 stalks green onion chopped

INSTRUCTIONS

In a large stock pot, heat olive oil on medium. Cook onion, sweet potato, and carrots for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened. 

Step 1

Add the bell pepper, pasilla pepper, garlic, chilli powder, paprika, ground cumin, dried oregano, and sea salt and cook for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 2

Put the vegetables to one side of the stock pot and add the ground turkey. Before stirring into the vegetables, brown the turkey on one side for 1–2 minutes.

Step 3

Stir in diced tomatoes and chicken broth. Cover and boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook until turkey is cooked through, at least 20 minutes. Check chilli flavour and add sea salt.

Step 4

Top chilli with homemade coconut milk yoghurt, avocado, cilantro, green onion, and whatever else you like!
