Giant Frosted Chocolate Fudge Pop Tart Recipe

Happy to offer my enormous homemade Frosted Chocolate Fudge Pop-Tart! Combine two layers of chocolate sugar cookie dough with fast chocolate fudge sauce, bake until flaky, and top with creamy milk chocolate frosting. This large chocolate pop-tart is sweet, salty, fudgy, and chocolatey. Finally, sprinkle pretzel salt for “pop tart” effect. Every slice tastes great!

– CHOCOLATE FUGE FILLING – 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder – 2/3 cup milk or heavy cream – 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chip – 2 tablespoons salted butter, cubed – 2 teaspoons vanilla extract – DOUGH – 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour – 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder – 1 tablespoon granulated sugar – 2 sticks (1 cup) cold salted butter, cubed – ICING – 2 cups powdered sugar – 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder – 1 tablespoon vanilla extract – 2 ounces dark or milk chocolate, melted – Coarse salt, for sprinkling

Make filling. Mix chocolate, cocoa powder, milk, and butter in a bowl. 1-2 minutes in microwave until smooth. Mix in vanilla. Let chill in the fridge for 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, create dough. In a food processor, mix flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and butter. Pulse until the mixture forms pea-sized balls.

Add 1/2 cup cold water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until dough forms a ball. If dough is dry, add 1-2 teaspoons water. Divide the dough in half on a floured surface.

Roll each side into an 8x16-inch 1/4-inch thick rectangle. Spread 1 sheet of fudge on a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving a 2-inch border. Cover the filling with the remaining half of the dough and crimp the edges with a fork.

Cover the baking sheets and refrigerate for 1 hour or freeze for 20 minutes. Heat the oven to 400°F. Bake pop-tarts until set, 30-35 minutes. Cool fully before icing.

Meanwhile, create frosting. Mix powdered sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla, and 3 tablespoons water in a bowl until smooth. Mix in melted chocolate. Adding 1-2 tablespoons of water thins thick frosting.

Cover the pop-tart with frosting. Add salt after a few minutes. Wait 1 hour or overnight to dry the frosting. Slice the tart into 9 rectangles. At room temperature, serve or store in an airtight jar for 3 days.
